Get glowing!
“Remember that you are, indeed, as the stars. You glow with the same intensity. The answers that you seek outside of yourself may very well be found within the cosmic intelligence inside you. Go ahead; show the world what you are made of! Sparkle, shine, light the way, and brightly blaze as you are meant to do.” ~Mishi McCoy
Lately I’ve been obsessed with sequins, stars, and glitter. The way I see it, “sparkle and shine” shouldn’t be limited to Christmas ornaments, Fourth of July fireworks, or cocktail dresses. Though the holidays are over, I’m still carrying a Vera Bradley tote bag that’s embellished with sequins. And my new Skechers with sparks of bright metallic thread make me smile every time I wear them.
But I want to add sparkle to more than my fashion choices. I’d like to spend more time with effervescent people who brighten my days. Or, as Paulo Coelho wrote, I want to “stay close to those who sing, tell stories, and enjoy life, and whose eyes sparkle with happiness.” I want to read more books and see more films that lift me up, too.
I’m not avoiding reality. It’s just that I’m exhausted by the chronic complainers, the critics, the nitpickers, and the doomsayers.
Yes, it’s a gloomy time of year here in the Midwest. Too many folks are blue and crabby from the lack of sunshine, spreading negative energy and bad juju everywhere. Don’t let anyone cast a shadow on your light parade. Spread kindness and keep on shining. ~CL
