Old-friends, good therapy
“A good friend is a connection to life — a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world.” ~Lois Wyse
No matter which party you support, it’s safe to say the past few weeks have been a political maelstrom. Unless you’ve buried your head under the sand, you’re probably feeling stressed and anxious — and a little unsure of how to discuss the issues in mixed political company.
Thank goodness for the pals who “get” what we’re going through — the trusted friends you can safely text at midnight with a short phrase (OMG, are you kidding me?!) while knowing you’ll be answered with comfort, validation, or a few well-researched articles from reliable sources. A couple of my oldest friends have been keeping me “sane” throughout the maelstrom. I’m grateful to remember that we have each other and I’m not alone. ~CL
