“The finest of pleasures are always the unexpected ones.” ~Erin Morgenstern, The Night Circus
Lately, on our daily walks with Coco at the Clawson City Park, Doug and I have spotted a few hand-painted rocks left along the trail, placed there for someone else to discover and admire. These charming pieces of art always stop me on the path, reminding me that life’s sweetest pleasures are often the ones we’re not planning or expecting. ~CL

I discovered one of these painted rocks in my Minnesota community, as well. I found out it was some young kids that were painting them and placing around town to cheer people up. It worked – very sweet.

Laurie — I love that you're finding these in your community, too. We need these random acts of cheer in this world right now.

Leaving little painted rocks in places for people to find them is the current thing. It's a possible smile during someone's rough day, or something to take a mind off of the current state of the world. I have been thinking about painting a few stones myself. Love this post.

Tina, I love the whole concept — and might start painting some rocks myself! Thanks for your comment.
